New York based Cable Company, HBO offered a reward of ₹1.60 Crore ($250,000) in response to a data breach and the information leaked at the television group that produces “Game of Thrones”. The hackers bluntly demanded a six-month salary, which is calculated around ₹38 Crore ($6 Million).
Variety reported that “on Thursday HBO offered the payment as a “bug bounty,” which is offered by companies to discover vulnerabilities in their computer networks to stop the unusual activities and find a proper solution to it but this offer apparently failed to satisfy the attackers who have demanded millions of dollars and are threatening to release more files from what is claimed to be a massive data breach and if this happened then this will be the biggest failure of the Cable Network company and success of the person harming them.
Moreover, Last week the hackers leaked one script of “Games of Thrones” and content from other HBO productions and gave warning to the Cable operator Company. HBO has also mentioned that “it was working with forensic experts and law enforcement in response to the attack”.
