Google’s search app on iOS has recently updated with a new feature similar to Twitter, like “Trending Searches” feature. If any users will tap onto the box to search, the app will automatically show searches that are trending and also provide instant answers to queries. The new update is available for iOS users with Google app version 34.1.
This feature came up last year on Android and lot of people had complained that they found it annoying and distracting, especially as the content returned was not what they were trying to search or interested in. This feature is especially designed to show what the people on Google are searching for, many complaints are related to the searches did not reflect what they might be personally interested in.
After getting tons of complaints on the Google Search product forum, the company updated and included an opt-out setting in the Google Search app to minimize the problem and the same feature has been included in the iOS app.
