Chinese electronics and software company, Xiaomi launched a new smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Y1 in India. This smartphone comes in two variants, one has 3GB RAM and another has 4GB RAM. The 3GB RAM variant has 32GB internal storage and is priced at Rs 8,999. The 4GB RAM variant has 64GB internal storage and is priced at Rs 10,999. This smartphone will be available from 8 October on Amazon.in, mi.com/in, at MI Home and at some offline stores.
This phone comes in two colors: Gold and Dark Grey. The processor is Snapdragon 435, which is clocked at 1.4 GHz. It has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Corning Gorilla Glass has been given, the version of Gorilla Glass is unknown. The phone will run on MIUI 9 (it will run on the beta version, stable version will come soon). The fingerprint panel is given at front side.
It has a dedicated memory card slot which will support memory card up to 128GB. It supports dual sim. We can use two sim cards and a memory card simultaneously. It has a 13 MP single rear camera and dual LED flash.
The main feature of this phone is its front camera. The front camera is of 16 MP with f/2.0 aperture. It also has a LED flash at front. Xiaomi is trying to capture increase its market share in the offline market. With this phone, Xiaomi has tried to attract selfie-loving users.
