Chinese electronics company, Xiaomi is known for its budget smartphones and for copying iOS features. But before manufacturing smartphones, the company was providing the MIUI for Android phones only and currently, it comprises a major part of smartphone market share. The launch of MIUI  10 was announced in Beijing, held by Hong Feng, co-founder, and VP of Xiaomi. The company has launched its new products in the latest Xiaomi event in China. The company has also launched Xiaomi Mi 8 and amazing products in the same event.

The newly launched MIUI is touted to deliver a faster experience over the previous MIUI version. It also includes full-screen display gestures, similar to the ones debuted on the iPhone X. The Chinese company has also combined new system sound and ambient noises for the better listening experience. Specifically for Indian users, the latest MIUI comes preloaded with new versions of Mi Music, Mi Video, enhanced Browser, and a new quick menu tab for business and service messages.

MIUI 10 Features

Virtual Assistant

This is one of the biggest addition to the Xiaomi UI. Currently, there are Google assistant and Amazon Alexa, both of them are providing a great virtual assistant experience and now Xiaomi has also announced its own virtual assistant which will be available in only MIUI 10 devices. Moreover, all the latest models will support this version of MIUI.


Virtual Improvement

Visual appeal has always been important for Xiaomi because the neat look provides something that is missing in stock Android. MIUI 10 includes more refined visuals which match with overall graphics of this update.


Swipe Gesture

Apple was the first one to remove the physical home button by launching iPhone X and completely relied on gestures for navigation. Similarly, the MIUI 10 also contains swipe gestures for home, going back and recent apps.


Artificial Intelligence 

This feature might not surprise many users because many smartphone manufacturers are already using machine learning to enhance user experience and with the help of AI your most used apps, contacts are sorted in a way that will save time and effort of the users.


Smart Device Integration

Task Manager

Task manager is mostly same for all the android devices. Xiaomi has added something new by allowing a completely new recent apps window. So that users will be able to see full preview and close all apps with a single tap on the screen.


Volume Slider

Previously, users get the slider on the top of the screen by pressing the volume button but in MIUI 10 users will get the screen volume slider on the side near the edge where the volume rockers are present. Moreover, the users can also get options to choose the phone profile mode.


Android Oreo

Finally, the wait is over,  MIUI 10 will be based on Android 8 Oreo. However, Android 9 is expected to release soon as its beta version is already available on devices. The latest Android provides advanced security features, better memory optimization, swift multitasking and much more.


Status Bar

MIUI 10 has made some major changes in the status bar and notification Bar. The status bar now shows the better brightness slider.
